Canary Island Date Palm

This is a big tree, with huge fronds, This is the tree planted all over the exploding island at the Mirage Hotel Casino. Mature specimens will reach over sixty feet tall, with a twenty five foot spread to the head. The occasional very cold winters, where temperatures dip to zero are likely to burn this species badly, and a frost damaged head is slow to regrow the large fronds.
