Oregon Grape

This woodsy looking shrub has several cousins in the same genus. All are at home in las Vegas shade gardens. The foliage turns different colors as it ages, and dark blue berries follow the small yellow flower spikes. This particular species grows about three or four feet tall here. The "grapes" are harmless, not tasty.
