Penstemon

Penstemon is a popular garden ornamental as well as an interesting plant to examine in its native habitats. Its common name, beardtongue, comes from the bearded stamen found in most species.
While growing well under a multitude of environments, this beautiful variety is best treated to partial shade during our sweltering Las Vegas summers. It's lush, vibrant blooms will usually return for a second round if cut back when they are spent.
