There
are two basic types of Cymbidiums: Standard and Miniature.
Generally, the Miniatures bear smaller flowers, but tend to have more blooms
that the Standard type. Most Miniatures bloom from November through March, while
Standards bloom from late December through May. Cymbidiums are basically a cool
growing orchid. Here in Las Vegas, they are best grown in a temperature-controlled
environment. Standard types can grow quite large and are often used for grand-scale
floral displays.
