In
the tropics, the coconut palm is a 100 foot tree and is cultivated and valued
for its fruit. In our living rooms, the plant barely survives for a year because
we buy it when it is still in infancy, dependent for nourishment on its seed,
the coconut.
In summer protect from strong sun. Keep the root ball
moist with soft, lukewarm water. In winter, reduce watering, but spray more
frequently. During growth, feed biweekly with weak plant food solution.
