Also
know as Maranta, this is a bushy rain forest plant with tuberous roots and large,
oval, vividly colored on upright petioles
.
Because of the plants slightly creeping habit, it does well in larger bowls
or containers.
Light or partial shade all year; no strong sun. Warm and humid, shelter from
drafts. Avoid chilling the root ball
;
use soft water at room temperature. To maintain humidity, we recommend setting
your pot over a dish of water.
