The long-stemmed leaves of aspidistra are reminiscent of spears. Its insignifacant flowers are of a murky violet color. Although most varieties have evenly colored, matte-finished green leaves, some may be found that are striped in white.

Happy in shade or a brightly lit room, just be sure to keep out of direct sun. Keep evenly moist in summer, but avoid waterlogging. Feed once a month with a weak solution.
