While the showy, spring-time display of flowers of most varieties are varying shades of pink, there are several white and even some almost red varieties. Tolerant of many different conditions, including the poor soil so common in Las Vegas, Rhaphiolepis is a tenacious species and will live where many other species might perish. While most commonly a medium small shrub, there are also tall varieties that are often shaped into decorative small patio trees.
